PUPPPS

Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPPs), is a chronic hives-like rash that effects some women during pregnancy. PUPPPs frequently begins on the abdomen and spreads to the legs, feet, arms, chest, and neck. Soothing topical moisturising creamss/emollient ointments are the standard treatment. Below is a compounding formulation for a commonly used mixture.

PUPPPs Cream Compounding Formulation

• Hydrocortisone Powder 1.00 grams
• Menthol Crystals 0.25 grams
• Camphor 0.25 grams
• Eucerin Emollient, D.F. or equivalent base 98.50 grams
• Total: 100.00 grams

Apply compounded cream BID + PRN to the affected areas. (Do not ingest)
